Why & How to Confront the G20 in Pittsburgh

This September’s protests against the G20 summit in Pittsburgh offer a rare strategic opportunity to reassert anarchist struggle in the new era of economic recession, ecological collapse, and liberal government. We’ve prepared a summary of why these demonstrations are important, who is organizing them, what is planned, and how to get involved.

We’ve also designed a poster promoting the unpermitted mass march to downtown Pittsburgh scheduled for Thursday, September 24, which we predict will be the high point of the mobilization.

RT #8 Status and Subscription Drawing

We’re about two weeks away from having Rolling Thunder #8 back from the printer and ready to ship out—right on schedule for the 3rd issue in a row. If you’d like an incredibly uninformative preview, feel free to check out our dopey twitter feed.

To celebrate our own giddy anticipation of the pending arrival, we’ve decided to spice things up by holding a drawing for one of the few remaining copies of the Ne Plus Ultra Edition of Days of War, Nights Love. To be eligible, you simply have to subscribe to Rolling Thunder by Midnight PST on the 31st of August. If you’ve already subscribed, don’t worry, you are eligible as well. The winner will be selected by a random number generator.

CrimethInc. Convergence Controversy

This is a brief statement followed by personal accounts detailing the events of a controversial disruption that happened at the end of the CrimethInc. Convergence in Pittsburgh this July. These texts have been written by some anarchist people of color who participated in the convergence and were present the night of the disruption. There has been some discussion about it on the internet, but we hope to offer people more context from our perspectives about that night. Still, mostly questions remain about how to proceed. Hopefully at least, these accounts will provoke honest, open, humble conversations about all of the issues raised, so that we can figure out how to move forward as radical communities in struggle.

There is so much ground to cover to convey what happened throughout the weeklong convergence. Check back soon for further reportbacks about the rest of the convergence.
